Today is a school day. I know, you are all utterly confused! School? In the summer? The madness!?! Well, the only excuse I had to come to this wonderful place was to take some classes with the wonderful University of Oklahoma. Our classes, Business Strategy and Policy and International Business, are taught by two of our most esteemed faculty, Mark and Ana Bolino. The classes are taught in english (not like I would not have understood the español, hablar muchos, or something like that) and are two hours each day, Monday thru Thursday. Classes begin at 9:00 and end at 1:30 with a 30 minute break. Today was mainly intro and the second hour got into lecture, but I am confident that both classes will be exceptional! They are largely discussion based and have already proven to be quite interesting.
Ana and Mark both have extensive international backgrounds (Ana is a native of Romania and Mrak studied abroad in Madrd ¨back in the day¨ and has his Ph.d. in a related international business field) so teaching these courses are well within their comfort zones!
One note about the class room... If there were no windows, I think it would pass as a holding cell. Low ceilings with the industrial, centruy old woodwork overhead, it makes me appreciate our facilities at OU. Don´t get me wrong, nothing about it is uncomfortable, but it is nothing compared to our stadium seating, WI-FI, dual projector, DVD-CD classrooms in Norman!
Boomer Sooner!! (shameless plug, but you knew it was coming eventually!!)
